Baby’s First Haircut at Harmony Barber Shop

We knew from the minute we had a baby, we had to take him to get Baby’s First Haircut at Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.  We were there in October when he was about 13 months old. I was worried he wasn't going to sit still through it, but I shouldn't have worried about a thing because Disney Cast Members are prepared for this exact thing!

We weren't able to make an appointment ahead of time through the reservations phone number, but arrived first thing when the park opened and waited outside Harmony until it opened. We got our name on the walk-in list and only had to wait about an hour. It was enough time to watch the trolley performers come through and grab some caffeine and treats from Main Street Bakery across the street.

When it was Finn's turn, they covered him in Mickey stickers and gave him a light up spinning R2-D2 to play with (aka distract him.) They confirmed our haircut style wishes and then she began cutting away!  As part of the 1st haircut package, they save your baby's locks in a small envelope; plus they provide a dated certificate and embroidered Mickey ears to wear after! All that for just $25! We even timed it right and a PhotoPass cast member was there to capture the finale.

UPDATE: We loved it so much, we actually took Finn back for his second haircut a couple weeks ago (now 18 months old) and the haircut was only $15.

It is such a quaint and friendly place nestled in Magic Kingdom.  So many guests probably pass by unaware of its existence or charm.  If you're traveling with kiddos, especially a baby's first trip, put this on your to-do list!

Better yet, as part of my complimentary services when you book your Disney Vacation with me, your Disney travel agent in Overland Park, I can make the reservations and itinerary plans for you!
